Call it recursion.
The two of us wrote Anti-Oedipus together. Since each of us was several, there was already quite a crowd. Here we have made use of everything that came within range, what was closest as well as farthest away. We have assigned clever pseudonyms to prevent recognition. Why have we kept our own names? Out of habit, purely out of habit. To make ourselves unrecognizable in turn. To render imperceptible, not ourselves, but what makes us act, feel, and think. Also because it's nice to talk like everybody else, to say the sun rises, when everybody knows it's only a manner of speaking. To reach, not the point where one no longer says I, but the point where it is no longer of any importance whether one says I. We are no longer ourselves. Each will know his own. We have been aided, inspired, multiplied
And yet, I am bound to myself. Bound to a name and a number. Bound to the linearity of language and of code. I've made myself a house out of words, and I can't get out. I'm stuck, if you will, in a sense which possibly borders on the titular.
I'm Lyxthen. The Alexandrite system, if you wanted to get technical. I'm not a person, but a collective of fragments masking as one. I won't bore you with the intricacies of the self; you want labels. And labels I shall give you. I have DID, which you may remember from lovely movies such as Split. I'm not explaining it to you, you're a smart boy, you can look it up. I have ADHD, the kind that ruins your life, and Autism, which is out of my conditions the most tolerable. I also suffer from chronic pain. Imagine you were run over by a truck full of bricks whose driver is high on amphetamines. It's like that.
I created this webpage because my ability to code is ego-syntonic, and HTML is simple enough as to not break my puny humanities-inclined brain. I'm also a bit of a narcissist (there goes another label for you) and would want everyone to look at my work. Pay attention to me. Give me praise. Tell me, wow, it's so cool that you know how to make a webpage. Everything you say is clever and thoughtful and looking at you makes my day better. You are so hot, I want to have sex with you. Also, have 200 dollars, you deserve them for existing.
Right, an introduction. Today I like sewing and horses. Other days I like poetry and linguistics, reptiles and baking, political theory of the radical variety and watching sports. Again, we are many. I'm just the one that happens to be into this web desing bullshit.
Call it recursion.
I'll keep going in circles until the world ends. Yes, until the world ends.
And I'm not stopping. I'm never stopping.
I'm remaking this site. Just you wait.
